Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

These cookies look so inviting, you can roll them in either icing sugar or granulated sugar before baking.   They come out with wrinkles on top or crinkles and are deceivingly soft to bite into!  And I was lucky to get a "new" air bake cookie sheet for my birthday from the married kids from Williams-Sonoma.
Preheat oven to 350F
1/4 cup butter softened
2 cups granulated sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
4 x 1 oz squares of Bakers unsweetened chocolate melted (I use the microwave for about 1 minute)
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Dusting - 1 cup powdered icing sugar or 1 cup granulated sugar
Grease your air bake cookie sheet.
Cream butter and sugar together.   Beat ion eggs 1 at a time, mix in vanilla and chocolate.  I use my electric beater or mix master.
In separate bowl add the flour, baking powder and salt - mix together.  Add dry ingredients to above batter slowly, or you can stir the dry into the wet with a wooden spoon.   Once mixed using your hands shape cookie dough into 1 inch balls - yes they are going to be chocolate looking!!!  I make sure to have a sink of warm sudsy water ready to wash up after each pan.
Roll the balls into the dusting sugar, coat well and place about 1 to 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake at 350F for 9 minutes.  Let sit for 5 minutes when they come out of the oven before removing to paper on counter top to totally cool.
